NZAPI Skill Up Workshops for Packhouse Staff

The number of pests being intercepted in key markets has significantly increased; we need to do all we can to reduce this risk. Packhouses play an important role in reducing this risk. So get your team involved!
Workshops will be run in small groups with hands-on training and discussion. You can choose to attend either Part A or B or both.
Workshop Part A: Pest and disease identification and how to be a great QC
9.30am - 12 noon - This workshop is for QC’s and anyone interested in identifying pests and rots in the packhouse
This session will discuss:
- Rot Identification
- Pest Identification
- How to be an effective QC
- Seasonal updates for Phytosanitary staff (attending this will meet the Phytosanitary Course - Seasonal Update Module requirement)
Attendees are welcome to stay for a BBQ lunch following Workshop Part A.
Workshop Part B: Getting the best from your apple washer
1 hour - This workshop is for apple washer operators, engineers and anyone interested in optimising your apple washer
Session repeats three times, choose one that suits you
This session will discuss:
- Practical tips for improving apple washer performance
- Apple washer best practice – for standard and rotary apple washers
- Latest update on Gen 3 Apples washers
