A Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment department spokesperson said there has been “no further detections at any sites within or outside the control zones”.

The detection of an adult male fruit fly at Mowbray earlier this month appears to be a one-off incident, with the spokesperson saying “there have been no further detections at the [Mowbray] site or nearby”.

Around 40 traps have been established around the Mowbray site, which are being monitored by Biosecurity Tasmania staff on an ongoing basis.

“In addition, inspections have been conducted on fruit trees on properties in the surrounding area. More than 100 properties have been visited,” the spokesperson said.
