Until then, Ukrainian exporters had to provide certifications that their products came from pest-free places that could be quarantined. The European Commission has just authorized exports of Ukrainian Fruits & Vegetables to the EU.
Following a request from the Ukrainian Food Safety Authority, the European Commission has just recognized the entire Ukrainian pest free territory and has included Ukraine in the list of countries authorized to export Fruits & Vegetables.
Although Ukraine has become the largest exporter of wheat to the EU, exports of its other agricultural products (tomatoes, peppers, apples, pears, plums, etc.) were low. Ukrainian producers had to provide certifications that the products came from pest-free places.
