US: How government shutdown affected produce indus

Although it’s over, it appears the shutdown affected produce industry businesses to varying degrees.
A recent poll by The Packer shows that of the 58 participants, 36% said that the government shutdown had not affected their businesses. Others said they faced serious difficulties in both day-to-day operations and long-term planning.
Nineteen percent of respondents said that food safety and 17% of respondents said inspections were a significant part of their business being affected by the shutdown.
