Apple price recoveries are ongoing. In marketing year 2019/20 -starting the 1st of August- Wapa/Prognosfruit expect the new crop to be small (-20% on preceding year and -11% below 5 year reference average). In this context average prices for the new crop are expected to go beyond +20% on 5 year. It is also expected to be average.



The remaining stocks from the preceding crop are relatively high, but there is nothing to worry about since these stocks represent just 4,6% of the average crop. The campaign that finished registered EU prices at about average level; at MS state, nevertheless, there were very big differences according to the Member State:

- prices in Poland were among the lowest of recent marketing years;
- French prices, on the opposite, were very high;
- German prices were slightly above average;
- Italian prices were a little below average and worsened during the last two months.
