On September 4, 19 tons of Fuji apples from Jingning County Hongliufu Fruits Co., Ltd. were successfully exported to Australia after passing the quarantine checks at Lanzhou Customs, marking the first time that apples from Gansu have been exported to the Australian market.
Located in the middle and upper reaches of the Yellow River, the Longdong area of Gansu Province boasts deep soil layers, sufficient sunlight, large temperature differences between day and night, and few diseases and pests. It is the main area and also the most suitable area for apple production in the Loess Plateau. It is also the main production area of high-quality late varieties and organic apples in the Northwest Loess Plateau.
It is reported that in the first seven months of this year, Gansu Province exported 26,000 tons of fresh apples with a value of 190 million yuan. Export destinations are also expanding, gaining new markets such as Mexico, Uzbekistan, and Australia.
