30 June 2020 - Webinar run by APAL

30 Jun 2020 , 10:00 am – 10:30 am (Aus time)

How has drought innovated the way we grow and monitor trees? What lesson’s can we learn from other industries?

During the millennium drought, on-farm monitoring was undertaken in irrigated citrus, almonds, avocados and grape vines in the Riverland and Sunraysia. The research project undertaken by Mark Skewes, a research scientist with the South Australian Research and Development Institute, investigated how growers’ actions affected the survival, productivity and recovery of orchards.

What you will learn

Join us for this 30 minute webinar where Mark will outline some of the techniques used by growers, including:

  • keeping trees alive with minimal water,
  • opportunities for orchard renewal during drought,
  • maintaining some economic yield, and
  • how actions during the drought can impact recovery of trees once water availability returns to normal levels.

Registration is essential

You will need to register to access the online webinar session. Make sure to book yourself in early, we will send you a reminder the day before and on the morning of your session.
