The Envy apple is on track to meet shopper demand this season as conventional volume is expected to increase 40% and organic to increase by more than 50%.

The apple has year-round production in Washington state, Chile, Europe and New Zealand, according to a news release. Production spikes are predicted to continue through 2025.

“The growing season finished well, and harvest is underway,” Chris Willett, general manager at EnzaFruit Products Inc., T&G’s Wenatchee, Wash.-based branch, said in the release. “So far, the fruit coming off the trees looks excellent and should enable a smooth transition from a strong New Zealand import season.”

Vancouver, British Columbia-based Oppy is partnering with customers to drive in-store sales, according to the release.

“As always, there’s great anticipation among our customers for the fresh-crop Enza varieties,” Roger Aguirre, Oppy’s apple category director, said in the release. “Envy continues to shine, and provide clarity, as a category driver in the crowded apple set. We believe it can perform even better with consistent placement and the exciting customer promotions planned for the season.”

Shipping for conventional Envy apples is scheduled for the week of Oct. 21 with volume expected through May, according to the release.

Organic Envy apples are scheduled to be picked the week of Oct. 14 with volume expected through March.

Enza’s tangy variety, Jazz, is also seeing growth with a 60% increase in organics available this season, according to the release.
