Recently, China has sent 32.4 tons of fresh pears produced in Hebei Province to Brazil, Latin America's main consumer market for this fruit.
China is the world's largest producer and exporter of pears, as it exports nearly 500,000 tons of this fruit per year.
The fruit planting areas in Hebei are the largest areas devoted to this crop in the entire country and account for nearly 25% of the national total production. Pear exports from this province account for more than half of all the pears that China sells to the rest of the world.
Brazil buys about 300,000 tons of pears a year and it is the world's second-largest importer of this fruit, just behind Russia.
Currently, Hebei exports pears to 72 countries and regions around the world.
