New Zealand is widely regarded as the best apple and pear producer in the world. 

To ensure we retain that title, we must as an industry continue to adapt and innovate, even when the business environment we are operating in is demanding and in a constant state of flux.

This year’s conference theme is Adapting to New Horizons. 

Two years on from the beginning of the pandemic, we have learned to modify and adapt to meet this new environment to ensure our apples can compete on the world stage, demand premiums and remain an industry exemplar. 

The global and domestic market landscapes have changed, resulting in increased pressure for growers and companies supplying New Zealand’s key trading partners.

The Conference will explore how the apple and pear industry can meet these new horizons, with presentations and discussions on the following themes:

• Enabling our industry globally
• Strengthening our sustainability pillar
• Technology partnerships
• Telling our story to the world

We will view these themes through global collaboration and insights, along with an understanding of how our industry is currently placed to adapt.

The Conference will present valuable networking and information sharing opportunities with industry colleagues and friends, as well as suppliers and government representatives.

Embracing collaboration both locally and globally and connecting with markets will be vital in how we adapt to these new horizons.
